Exodus 32 gives us many insights into the nature of man. The people of God had
been delivered from Egypt and made wealthy. However, because of their distance
from God they became impatient and demanded their leader, Aaron to make gods
they could follow. So, they wasted their wealth to make a dead god to attribute to it
God's deliverance. There was singing and dancing. I believe that is the trap of
money. It creates a false god that we trust, worship, and follow if we do not learn to
honor God as our Father, provider, and guide. There must be a shift in our thinking
and our sacrifice if we want to experience God and His truth: our priorities must
change, or we will fall in the same trap: a god of our own making.
